Visiting the Gateway Arch with Kids

5:10 PM

The Gateway Arch provided our family with tickets to visit during our trip. Thank you so much to them for having us! All thoughts & opinions are my own. Thank you for reading & supporting my family!

Visiting the Gateway Arch with Kids

The Gateway Arch is the icon of St. Louis!
It's breathtaking just how large it is in person! Who knew a silver looking arch would be so beautiful! I hadn't realized it is actually a national monument!

Because it is a National Park, we were able to get a stamp in our National Parks Passport for the Arch & the trails! THIS is the passport we use. It is such a fun thing to do with your family as you travel!

They also have a Junior Ranger program. You complete the activies & you can earn a Junior Ranger badge!

I also didn't realize you can go up IN the thing! That's right. Up in the 630 ft arch!

When preparing for your visit here are few things you should know.

The tickets can go pretty fast. It is best to reserve & buy them online before your trip. You pick your time & it will help to make sure you are there about an hour before your scheduled time.
That will give you time to go to will call & go through security.

If you are extremely claustrophobic I wouldn't say this is going to be the thing for you. I feel as though I am tid bit claustrophobic but I didn't have troubles.

In the lobby they have a pod that you can try out to see what it's like.

It is SMALL. Our family of 4 was sitting knee to knee. They told us the ride up was 4 mins & the ride down was quicker at 3 mins. I wasn't counting but I felt as though it was much faster.

Waiting to get into your pod is much like a airport. You are assigned a terminal when you get your tickets. Then you watch the board for your acceptance ticket time. You get in line, watch a short video, take a photo then head to the loading dock.

The photo included 3 prints & digital file for $29.

At the top you walk at an incline because you are at the curve of the arch. When looking out the windows you lean over. It made my stomach a little jumpy, but Brandon {who is scared of heights} & the girls had no problems. Once you are up, you are welcome to stay as long as you like.

One side is the view of the Mississippi River & the other side a city with the perfect view of Cardinals Stadium.

If you have fears, I still encourage you to try this. It was so much fun & the experience is worth it! I think all of your worries will be worth it when you get to the top!

After you're done, check out the museum. Lots of other historic things to check out!

Make sure you take lots of pictures! It makes for perfect photo ops!

🍀 Easy Leprechaun Trap 🍀

6:36 PM
We have been making a Leprechaun trap for the past several years.
No luck yet in catching one, but it doesn't stop the girls from wanting to try!

I was super thrilled to see this trap!
After doing so many, you kind of run out of idea on what to do year after year.
So having the entire trap in one kit was very appealing!

The girls loved how easy it was to put together & they still got the customize it to how they wanted with the stickers.

The kit includes: the box, stickers, & gold coins. Everything you can see in my photos minus the cute little girls ;)

After putting it together, they did ask if next year we could go back to making one by scratch.
So it looks like next year won't be as easy..on me.
But, for now it was so much fun!

Disney's All-Star Movies Resort

Disney's All-Star Movies Resort

If your kids are younger, I am sure they feel as mine do about themeing when it comes to picking a resort at Walt Disney World! It's the best & embodies the fun of being AT Disney!

With all of the Disney resorts, that they have.. surprisingly not many have the character themeing that kids love.

Our last trip, was a last minute in booking. & we decided to go with All-Star Movies Resort! The themeing is amazing! It's alot like Art of Animation.{to see our stay at Art of Animation click HERE}But for a value resort, the grounds are amazing!

DISNEY WORLD WITH A STROLLER

We stayed in a preferred room in the Toy Story section. I highly recommend getting a preferred room, currently as of  March 2019, those are the only sections that are completely remolded, but they are close to the lobby & bus is you if that is your transportation, & Toy Story happens to be a fave of our family!

When you stay value, the size of your room isn't the most spacious. But, if you are like us..you are in the room to sleep and that's about it. So, with the remodeled rooms it would not matter to us!
Note: all beds at value resorts are double beds, not queens.

Going passed the Dalmatians section, you hit the Mighty Ducks pool; that pool is much quieter & not as crowded if that is more your thing.

There is always something going on at every resort. Always make sure you check out the schedule to see what is going on. There can be games, crafts, meet & greets ect. that they have planned. You can spend a full day at any resort on property, alone with the activities they put on.

At Movies in "The Reel Spot" just off the lobby, they have a movie going all the time too!  They put out a sign on which titles they are playing.

The Cafeteria at All Star Movies Resort is no different then all the other resorts.
They do however, have Toy Story themed waffles. Yummy One of  Kind shakes to only movies.

PRO TIP:
Keep this between me & you but Ask to see the secret Menu! They will come out with a suitcase & you get to see the secret menu in a fun way! These items are only available when you ask for the secret menu.

Walking around the grounds, there are hundreds of photo opportunities!

As you can see we really loved staying at this resort & we would recommend it to anyone that doesn't mind a smaller room & bed!
