Energy Balls Recipe for Kids

These kids are all of sudden starving every second of the day with being at home! I usually make these every Sunday night or Monday morning to last through the week. These can be switched up in many different ways. These energy balls are healthy, & pack in some protein for you or your kids! I like packing them as a snack or in lunches!

I feel like this is a super simple & easy energy ball recipe too, which is always a plus for me! I can make it as quick as these get eaten!

For most, these are ingredients you already have at home, too! So no trip to the grocery store. All you have to do is add in all the ingredients together & roll into balls. Easy Peasy!

You could use almond butter, instead of peanut butter, or whatever PB alternative you might need for your family. I use mini chocolate chips because I feel they are easier to eat than normal-sized. You can certainly use whatever you have on hand or want. You can also add chia seeds or flaxseed for added value. I love adding in chia seeds, but didn't have any in the house when I made these!

There are two ways you could do this, one way I do if I am in a hurry, the other is when I have time to prepare them the night before.

After you mix up all the ingredients for the energy balls, you start making them into... well balls. I just scoop it up with my hand, but a cookie scoop would be a lot like messy! I put them on parchment paper then pop in in the fridge for a couple hours to get firm. This makes it so they aren't sticky & fall apart. Or if you are preparing the night before, I mix all the ingredients & leave the bowl in the fridge overnight then make it into balls the next morning. This way is a lot less mess if you are doing it by hand & less sticky!
